  1. Ken Demaree says:

I am a soccer goalkeeper, played in high school, 2 years in college and continue to play indoor soccer. A goalkeeper is required to completely sacrifice his body to prevent the other team from scoring a goal. Believe me, a goalkeeper does sacrifice his body.

Injuries are not uncommon. I was introduced to Dr. Lowe in 2000 by a coworker (Dan Englehard) who also happened to play on the same indoor soccer team. I was experiencing pain in my left elbow and frequent sensation in the tips of my fingers of my left hand. I immediately suspected something with a nerve.

I had never been to a Chiropractor, but Dan explained how Dr. Lowe had helped him. So it seemed like it was worth a try.

Dr. Lowe examined me, was very thorough before outlining a treatment plan for a pinched nerve in my neck. This treatment plan lasted about 6 months, and Dr. Lowe was able to correct my condition with the adjustments he made to my neck.

Despite some discomfort at times, I was able to continue to play and function normally. I admit I was skeptical as my treatment started and continued without immediate results. But there was another issue that developed that removed the doubt I had.

My nephew is bigger than me, and while playing around he dislodged a rib in my back. The pain was not immediate, but delayed by a few days. What I experienced in my back was pain, different than the pinched nerve in my neck.

I did not know that I had a rib dislodged until I mentioned this to Dr. Lowe during a treatment session – he discovered this with a very simple examination. I was concerned about this, but he assured me it would be no problem to correct this issue.

I was not sure of his plan for this rib, so the next visit I inquired about this rib issue again. Dr. Lowe explained the plan again, but he made a comment that will always stick with me, and is the first piece of evidence that I would submit to his skill and knowledge of the body.

First I have to provide additional intel about this dislodged rib. During this time I was having periods of experiencing a lot of gas (to be blunt…..I was farting like crazy!). But certainly not in public or around Dr. Lowe. As the second treatment for this rib ended Dr. Lowe commented that I was probably having a lot of gas because the rib was in the area of the nerve that went to my bowel.

WOW!!!! He was right on! I was never skeptical of Dr. Lowe being able to treat me.

Fast forward to December 23, 2010. The second half of my indoor soccer game. I am blind-sided by one of my teammate inadvertently! The blow was head on for me. My head shapped back very violently, the cracks I heard were not the cracks of a Dr. Lowe adjustment!

My left arm immediately experienced the pins and needles sensation times 100 billion in intensity!!! A few moments seemed like hours! I knew immediately that I again had an injury related to the nerve in my neck, same area as before.

After the game, which I did finish after my left arm “woke back up” and the sensation went away, there was a much different condition with my arm from 10 years earlier.

I lost almost all the strength in my left shoulder. I could not raise my left arm above my head. Holding a 2-liter of soda in my left hand, I could not raise my arm to a 45 degree with my body!

    Basically…..I was a one-armed man.

Dr. Lowe again after a thorough examination, diagnosed a pinched nerve. I again asked as before, if he saw any major damage, and could he treatment. This injury was much different than 10 years earlier….actually much scarier!

Dr. Lowe confidently stated he could help me, and that he could not he would tell me so. Treatments began immediately and though I am not quite back 100% I have seen much improvement with the strength in my shoulder returning.

Thank you Dr. Lowe. Anyone in need of Chiropractic care could not be “in better hands” than those of Dr. Lowe!
