Kentucky No-Fault Insurance: How it Works
By
Kentucky has a no-fault law. This means that your doctor or hospital will bill your insurance directly. Your insurance will pay for your care. Once the bill exceeds $1,000, the insurance companies will look at who was at fault for the collision. The insurance of the responsible party will pay back the other person’s insurance company after all treatment is completed.
This is a great benefit because your bills get paid regardless of who was at fault—you are simply responsible for your deductible. When your insurance benefits are exhausted, the doctor will usually bill your health insurance for your care.
